August 19, 2009 was my lucky day!
Seriously one of my most favorite, favorite, FAVORITE days of August, ever.
- The day before, I finished "1984" and that meant Wednesday was my rest day.
- I talked to Arrielle as she drove home to the Bay Area. We reconnected :] I've always loved that girl. I kept her company an hour or two before the sun rose, then on her way to her friend's house before school. Phew, we were both kindda tired, hahaa.
- In the middle of talking, I checked my MySpace and I basically took a renewed ownership of myself again. MySpace is soo stupid, in sooo many ways. Oh geez, where did my intellect go? Seriously. I'm so much better than to let anyone do that to me. I may be crazy, but I'm right.
- My mom gave me my dad's car keys. HAHAHA.
- Stopped at McDonald's and got Alvina a McGriddle. And myself, a yogurt parfait mmmm.
- I drove and registered myself. The photo ID guy let me redo my ID card picture... like, 3 or 4 times, haha! That guy's a crazy flirt, but I don't care because that whole day I was basically in a "GTFO" mood and, well, I got a better ID picture out of it!
- Saw my girlfriends. At least some of those in my class. Almost everyone from Kelley, Alvina, and Megan to Nancy, Sandra, Yosi, and Dianne. We caught up on summer love, the lack thereof, or hahaha otherwise.
- Caught up with Daniel. But mostly Daniel's mom HAHAHA.
- Kasra saw me. He worked out :O hahaha. He called over Andres and we all kindda caught up. We were missing others though. That was quick because again, I was in a very "GTFO" mood. So I got the fuck off campus.
- I followed through with my promise to Nanay. I promised my grandmother that if I got the car to myself, I'd visit her. So I sped over to the nursing home and RAN, as in HUFFING AND PUFFING FUCKING RAN, through the doors and into her room. She cried at the sight of me. I went with her to therapy. I told her stories and worked out with her, dumbells lifts and rolling ankles and all. She couldn't stop getting choked up that I was actually doing sets with her. Well... Lord knows I need the exercise -_____- hahaha. When she was done, I pulled out the award I got at school. Hahaha, it's not much, but she cried again :] I pushed her back to her room and helped her get into a fresh set of clothes. I promised I'd come back again, this time with my mom and aunt. (They didn't know I was at the nursing home). As I was leaving, Jed, one of the nurses that flirts with me like crazy, told me that my mom called and he said I was there. Motherfuck. Haha, so I sped home.
- My family was super happy. It was really nothing, and I would if I could, but I visited Nanay on my own. So? They were just happy that they didn't have to tell me to. I didn't quite understand it at the time. I showed them the award. Hahaha, more happy. Then we gathered the cameras and headed out to Olive Garden, yay!
- We visited Nanay again. She was about ready to go to dialysis, so we waited and told her stories until she left. She's a happy camper :] Jed started flirting again. He kindda looks like a fish. That day, I decided to raise my standards even more. Something about seeing Jed, and what happened the night before, just made me reevaluate myself. I asked him what his tatoo meant. He said, "Lex... that's my son's name." "Oh, that's nice." GTFO hahahaa peace.
- Olive Garden. Sooo good. Apparently the chef undercooked my mom's steaks, YES, STEAKS, (we were celebrating to the max), and the manager came to tell us the kitchen is preparing several new steaks for us to enjoy here or take home. Hahaha, oh man. To top it all off, complimentary raspberry cheesecake with chocolate dough. Mmm.
- Shoes. At Cerritos Mall. I had one thing in mind: shoes. Haha. And oh yes, did I find some great buys, whooo!

- Sephora. I'm a VIB now :] 'nuff said.
- Jonathan Guzman. On the way back to Nanay, my mom and aunt wanted to pick up some dinuguan and dessert for my dad back home, so we stopped by the Filipino places haha. While waiting, Jon called me. We were talking more and more about prom, and ahh he told me he'd paid for my airfare, AND MY MOM'S AIRFARE if I came to Texas. HELL YES I'M GOING TO TEXAS. Whoo! We talked about Philippine politics, our rendezvous, and more. This got my mom super excited. But nervous because he might make moves on me. Hahaha, no, he knows he can't touch this. But the vice versa invitation is open. HAHA. Oh man, he cracks me up. He had to hang up because he was going to something for clinical. One thing that kept Jon and I together all these years are our common passions in medicine, future-forward attitudes about becoming doctors, being Filipino haha, and our nonchalant abilities to be utterly insane with a kept intellect. That last part, only we will understand.
- Nanay revisited. She was super happy when she saw me. Mostly after dialysis, she gets really tired and grumpy. Who wouldn't? All the blood you just made the past few days gets drained and filtered! But nonetheless, she sprung into a great mood and ate allll her food before knocking out. Man, I wanted to, too. Haha. But... more mall. LOL!
- New job. Not only do I have a gig at Kaiser Permanente this Saturday with Shawn and his friends, but I got a job, the original job I've been aiming for. My mom pulled some strings with the administration and I got in! All I need to do is set a time when I can start, and I'll be set. I failed because I was young. My mom succeeded because she's NOT a 17-year-old student. Whoo, Mom!
- Scrubs. I picked up my first pair of scrubs, ever. Hot pink, of course. Hahaha. When I saw myself in the mirror, I had almost the same feeling I had when I saw myself standing in the graduation robe. In front of Daniel. Amazing. When I was paying, I saw the stethoscopes behind the counter and thought of only one person: Jonathan.

- Daniel Taroy. While I was at the mall, and at Wal-Mart, I was texting Daniel the entire time. Alvina was a floor below me, but there was no way in Hell I was paying for food I wasn't going to eat, just to see her for like, 5 minutes haha. Hopefully Daniel and I will finally eat something next week -____- His place ;] Ahh, I love that man.
- Christopher Gonzaga. He left Oxford. He didn't even tell me. I found out through Daniel. Who found out through a yearbook entry. What the fuck, you stupid bastard??? Ugh, I didn't know what to say. I just texted him a few kind words and left it at that. He and I... we were star-crossed friends. Great when together, but ultimately going separate ways. The separation, though future-apparent, already tore us apart. Why did it, I'm not sure. The best thing to think is that what we had, as very close friends since fifth grade, was special. And it can be renewed later, just not now. I know where I'm going, I don't know if he knows where he's going. But wherever he goes, I'm sure it'll be somewhere he deserves to be. This part of my day wasn't especially lucky, but I know he'll succeed much more somewhere else.
- Jonathan Guzman revisited. He called me while going home. We talked until we admitted that we need to knock the fuck out. At 10pm. Haha, well for him, at 12am. I crawled into bed and turned out the lights.
- I slept early for the first time all summer long.
- My last thoughts. "...we'll both be 18 by then. "
- The day before, I finished "1984" and that meant Wednesday was my rest day.
